Profile
Cathey Wilcox
Principal
Nettleton School District
A former technology trainer and elementary assistant principal, Cathey Wilcox is now a principal in Nettleton School District in Jonesboro, Arkansas. With twenty-two years of education experience, Cathey's experience includes working as a fifth grade teacher, a media and curriculum specialist, and as an elementary administrator.
Cathey's first experience with computers was in college, when she locked up the mainframe computer in a BASIC programming class! She believes technology's potential for education lies in its use in all content areas to prepare students for the future. Working to promote the effective use of technology, Cathey regularly provides professional development to her own staff. She is most proud of the state technology grants she has received, and the fact that she helped elementary schools in her district change to computer-generated student reports.
Family life is very important to Cathey. She is happily married with one son and two-stepdaughters. The dog, Robo pup, makes the family scene complete! Being a former librarian, it's no wonder that along with walking, her favorite leisure time activity is reading. Cathey's favorite author is romance novelist Laveryl Spencer.
