Here is a collection of resources to assist school site administrators start to prepare for the administration of next generation Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT). While emphasis is placed on California’s CAASPP (formerly CalMAPP)/SBAC assessments, this document is relevant to all CAT programs. Though this list is not exhaustive, it should provide school and district administrators with a foundation in order to start the planning process toward the implementation of the field test.

Students, teachers, administrators, and anyone who is in need of Math skills: K -12 through higher Education students will excel with the Khan Academy’s on-line How To videos all about Math, Science, and myriad of other disciplines. The Khan Academy is a not for profit 501(c) (3) with the mission of providing a world-class education to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Created and maintained by Salman Khan, the site includes user-paced exercises-developed as an open source project allowing the Academy to become the free classroom of the world. Also provides data on students' course completion.
 

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Minimum Tech Requirements

The Smarter Balanced Technology Strategy Framework and System Requirements Specifications provide minimum hardware specifications and basic bandwidth calculations that will allow schools and districts to evaluate which of their existing computers will support the administration of the assessment system in the 2014-15 school year that will evaluate students' mastery on the Common Core State Standards.

The eCAP program at El Crystal Elementary School in the San Bruno Park School District is a unique take home audiobook program where 40 targeted students use iPods to listen to and read from several different literature books.
