American Film Institue (AFI) ScreenNation

You will find the site very helpful to help teachers and students who are starting video production. A series of short videos can be used individually or in the small group session to assist with a wide range of technology issues related to video production. The source does not specify specific brands but addresses specific issues related to film making. The site provides helpful suggestions for all elements and levels of filmmakers.

Arkansas Learning Management System - ALMS

The Arkansas Learning Management System (ALMS) provides teachers with a platform to easily manage and deliver elearning, create and deliver online assessments, and automate the grading of essays through a system of online peer-review. The main purpose of the system is to provide the means by which teachers and students can share things they create for their system with other schools, and there is an electronic repository on the main website to facilitate this sharing. The system is free for any school, public or private, to use.

This site offers educational animated movies for K-12 to explain academic concepts in a voice and visual style that is accessible, educational, and entertaining. Subscriptions for schools are available as well as CD's. These movies can also be shown to parents. You can view sample movies on the site.

California's K-12 High Speed Network (K12HSN) has created a suite of Web 2.0 tools specifically designed for educators to create and share content.
