Profile

Harry Dickens
Technology Coordinator
Texarkana
As is the case with many educators, Harry Dickens decided to enter the field due to the inspiration of a favorite teacher who he had the opportunity to work with after completing college. Harry spent twelve years as classroom teacher prior to becoming a district technology coordinator where his duties now include staff development, technology infrastructure, software development, and grant writing. During his tenure as a teacher, Harry served as campus technology coordinator and taught classes on data analysis.
Harry sees instantaneous access to student data as the greatest potential use for technology in education. To that end, his most satisfying technology accomplishments include implementing a uniform, standardized software application throughout the district as well as designing and overseeing the district’s infrastructure, including hardware and software improvements. His areas of expertise lie in technology planning, budgeting, grant applications, and professional development.
On a more personal note, Harry enjoys listening to music and playing the tuba, and is the proud father of two children ages two and five. Harry can be reached at hdickens@tasd7.net.
